    cool front vs dove hunt

Is it true that this front in central TX is pushing our birds out of the area. We had a great opening day hunt and I am hoping to get a few more in before the birds leave. What's the verdict???

Haven't done much dove hunting in the past few years, but growing up I remember seeing more birds when the fronts hit.

It really depends. Typically with each front its gonna push out what was there but it should push in a newbatch of birds.

We had alot of birds pushed in with the first storm late last week. Then the next storm pushed them out and brought in more. This front should be the same. If ur hunting over a large food source u should still have a decent amount of birds as long as they can find the food

I agree. In my experience it will push out your present birds, but new should follow. The only bad thing, is it may take a few days for the new birds to find the best food sources. So if you are in them thick, a front is a bad thing in my opinion.

If it's true, then you should have alot of doves, because the doves in north Texas were invisible this morning. Hoping they were just sleeping in letting the wind die down a bit. But, maybe they went to central Texas.....

Cold front blew a storm through last night and we watched the dove start to leave, they didn't want to have any part of it. I shot 2 birds in two hours.

I hope they blew them straight into Aspermont...on my way in about 20 mins!

It's been so bad around here I didn't even hunt opening day. No birds around. We've had rain the last two days (3" total) and I saw more birds today than I have in a long time. One 1/2 mile stretch of highway I saw two or three limits flying over, easy. Busy tomorrow but maybe Sunday/Monday can get out and do some shootin'

Well they will get pushed south by a strong front, but I don't believe this one will move them much. This afternoon setting here at the house we got 26. I was a good hunt.

Its the same as us not knowing if your telling the truth about a 180 class buck running through the jack in the box parking lot

Serioulsy though it comes down to birds being in the field one day storm comes and blows them out then no birds and then another storm and birds are back.... Its all with the number of birds you see too
