Giving Props when props are due

I have always been a customer of David's in Weatherford and that won't change, heck Tammera taught me to shoot a bow when I was 18. My kids call David and Tammera aunt and uncle. Last sunday I needed to shoot to get ready for the up coming caribou hunt. Alan and I decided to go to cabelas and then shoot indoors at ccr since he was the only shop open on sunday.
While shooting, my bow screwed up.(actually I screwed it up) Everyone knows me and that Kenny and I have not had very good past meetings. I wouldn't say we have a history but everytime I had been in his shop or went to Trophy Archery I left feeling unwanted.
Two friends (Jeff and Jeff) on here kept saying give him a chance he's changed. Maybe one day I would give him another try after David and Tammera retired but not now as I was still bitter.
Well, since David was closed and I'm in a time crunch and I was shooting anyway. I reluctantly handed my bow to Joe who then gave it to Kenny.
This time was different from the past. Ken showed me what he was doing and why. He stayed and bs'ed with us and was a fun to be around. I left there feeling like I learned a bunch and felt wanted. I felt like I was appreciated by Ken, I expected nothing less from Joe but Ken shocked me.
I know those on here have had bad dealings with him in the past but believe me he has changed and I say this with everyone knowing my stance on him to begin with.

I will ask this. Don't turn this into a Ken bashing thread as that's the exact opposite reason of why I started it. This is more about me seeing someone change that I didn't think could. (mods if you see the bashing start delete the post or just lock this thread)

Ken, thanks for helping me out of a jam and knowledge you shared and taking time with me.
    Joe- you're in good hands.

We all change throughout life. Hopefully for the better. Good post Jim.

The older we get the more the "Golden Rule" seems to apply.

I can't say the first time I met Ken was bad but it was definitely different than I was used to. But since being at CCR I have had quite a few dealings with him and I can say my opinion of him has changed. I'm glad he is a part of CCR, he helped me just the other day when I was up there. I still go to my favorite bow shop but I now have a solid back up.

Yes. He's the pro at CCR. I think I actually saw him smile while working on KEEP's bow.

Seriously, he was very helpful and informative.

I'll have to say my first meeting with Ken was less than pleasant. I gave FND a hard time about giving me some firewood from Sippy. Jeff agreed to meet me at Ken's (Arlington) as I was a little apprehensive about going in there ever again!! He was a more pleasant person this time around. I guess people can change even though they're so set in their ways. I met Humper up there last week, the day before he left for Colorado, to shoot some outdoor targets and techno hunt. Ken wasn't there to talk with but I did have a great conversation with Joe and crew. The shop is definitely shaping into something very spectacular! I guess I'm lucky enough not have needed work on my bow since I got it but if I do...I'd make a special trip up there to get it fixed!

                            Great things happening at CCR!
