Good eats in Conroe area??

These are the best places in Conroe, stay away from Margarita's its not good.

Erroneous on all accounts! I grew up in Conroe and Margarita's is the best Mexican food place in town, and beats a heck of alot of these places in Dallas.

Kirby's lonestar somehouse, they are on 105 and they have live local music some nights, great atmosphere...

Double Daves pizza is on 105 now too...

Eldorado Jacks, nice little place on the water bar/ grill type set up

Theres quit a few more places that are good to eat at around the lake, just depends on what your in the mood for!!!

Vernon's BBQ

My aunt & uncle own Vernon's BBQ on 105 out toward the lake. Pretty good food and a great atmosphere.

This gets my vote. The fish tacos are amazing!

I think everyone has posted all the great places in the Conroe area. Hope you are in town long enough to try them all.


Chinese Food-China delight
BBQ- Smokey Mo's, their turkey sandwich and stuffed baked potatoe is the best around the state!
Mexican- Mama Juanitas Cafe Adobe in the Woodlands
Steaks- Saltgrass or Ramsey's...enough said
Seafood-Vernons Catfish
Pizza- Pizza Shack
Burgers- Mckenzie's Burgers or Vernon's BBQ

Vernon's is great! Papa's on the Lake x2. If you want some other known places The Woodlands south of conroe on 45 has Red Robin, BW3s, Saltgrass, Chuys, and all your run of the mill Chili's and like restaurants.

We eat a lot of mexican food and Mama Juanita's has the best fajita's anywhere within a 50 mile radius by far! Has anyone heard that cowboy dude play his acoustic up there? He can't sing that great but dang can he pick a string!!!
