When my Dad passed away, his dog lay at the gate waiting for him to return, for 2 years. When I sold his house, the man that bought it kept the dog as it would go crazy if you tried to take it from the place. He was nice enough to call and tell me he had passed. He buried him right where he laid every day, facing the gate.
