    AR-15 Question

Can some one walk me through adding a picatinny/weaver rail to my AR15 on the forearm? i am really wanting to add a bipod mount and maybe a hand post or a flashlight or whatever. Should I take it to a Gunsmith to do or can I do it myself. I am a novice to moderate gunsmith guy.

        You can go several ways.....

One is a direct replacement version of your current handguard with rails on it, not the best on the market, but you could do the work yourself, simply by removing your hand guards and putting the new ones on.

OR you can buy a nice full floater quad system from Larue and do it your self if you have a barrell wrench and a vise. This would be the exspensive way to go , but in turn it will be the most accurate and stable also..

So could i just add a rail to my current handguard? How hard would that be or is that not recommended? I really was just wanting to add one rail. Not a quad block.

so all i'll need is the forearm wrench to bust it loose. Then mount the rail where I have space on my forearm? I dont want to cover up any of the stainless steel parts I see correct? That will effect cooling?

All you will need to do is pull your delta ring down and pop out the lower forearm cover, then all you do is position the rail where you want it and tighen the screws and pop the cover back in, in all it costs you 12.00!!
