How come every time u look at a chain on stand in a a book or online the tree is perfectly straight. i live in the hill country and ther are a few little trees that i think are straight enuff to hang one. but dont want to waist my time if they will not work. yall have any advice?

Be advised that when sitting in one of the little trees you're talking about that the whole tree shakes whenever you move. It's hard to draw when the entire tree sways/shakes everytime you move. I've hung them in several smaller diameter trees and regretted it almost every time. A ladder stand always seems a like a better option, but I don't want to haul one in and out off WMA's. If you're on a lease you might give the ladders a try. Good luck.
