Rattlesnakes!

It's August in Texas and the rattlesnakes are out. Hoodathunkit?!

I've heard usually when it's real hot they'll "den" up til it cools off like now. I'm here at the lease pretty often and don't usually see any. Did this time, that's all I'm saying amigo.

I don't get why everyone has a personal vendetta against rattlesnakes. Sure they're venomous, and use whatever rational you want, but they still play a role in the ecosystem of the land.

Just a tidbit of info for y'all they might not know..... In early spring on the southwest side of a rock outcropping you can find these guys laid up sunning. If you happen upon a good den you will have a chance to see more snakes than you can imagine. It's pretty cool to see first hand.

Walked into a Sendero before light on a warm December year. Started walking back out about 10:am and with each step, almost a snake for each step. That was there year I decided to buy snakeboots.
