My wife and I made a quick trip to Kerrville last weekend and while there took Tink up on his offer to stop by. We also had the good fortune to meet Red Dot. What an interesting and down to earth guy! He welcomed us to his ranch with open arms and it felt like meeting a relative from the good side of the family. This man has led an action-packed life and has a knowledge base and memory recall you would not believe.
After hanging around the ranch a while, we moved the festivities to the Camp Verde Store for the celebration of the 150th year of the Army experiment to use camels to traverse the American Southwest. More info on Camp Verde here: http://stories.dailytimes.com/story....14db9603b83967
We really enjoyed meeting Red Dot and Tink and our time in Kerrville, albeit too brief.
We also did a little sight-seeing and I videoed some axis, plenty of whitetail, and while exploring the view from Mount Wesley I inadvertently snuck up on a gray fox with pups – at about 15 yards.
Here are a few pics from the weekend:

A face only a mother could love!
