I started my son with the Bear Brave. About 100 bucks from WalMart/Academy. Gets the used to it, before you unload cash.

The mission menace is very adjustable to grow with him for years.

              QB,
Bob Sarrels builds some pretty and good shooting bows for kids. Check out the bow he made: http://discussions.texasbowhunter.co...d.php?t=159655. Plus he is a site sponsor and a great guy.

Sorry double post....if you are looking for a compound I would also take a look at the Hoyt Trykon Jr. at a local bow shop.

Going to keep an eye on this thread. Need to pick up a first bow for my daughter. She's not little anymore, 15yr old and about 5-10 but still I don't want to break the bank at this point.

I will second the Diamond Nuclear Ice. We have one for our daughter and it is great. I think it will go down to 12-14 pounds ( I have heard that the string can slip off the cams at this weight, but we have not had a problem). Glen at West Houston Archery said he loves this bow (they put a peep on it this weekend for her).

Diamond Nuclear Ice/Parker Sidekick XP (may be a little much on lbs)

One of my boys has the Parker Sidekick. It's a good bow, draw length adjustments are simple. My other son has a Mission Menace, better bow than the Parker imo. Both ran about $300 from what I recall

Yep I think the Diamond Nuclear Ice is my pick. I have a 7 year old daughter that needs less poundage. I think they range from 10-29 lbs. she can have it for a while. They run about 170.00.
