Correction, it was the Mom that is interested in her sons interests.
Also by the mother telling him the dad is no hunter. Indicating he may have no interest in hunting.

Edit: this was already taken care of lol.
Maybe the dad will join in and mom too then we gain 3 more TBH brothers and sisters?

So it could be the dad is not stepping up to the plate or interested. Also by the mother telling him the dad is no hunter. Indicating he may have no interest in hunting or doing it with his son.
See post 10 by the OP. It was already clarified.

The Katy GTG is not a bad idea. We usually have a good group of people that are more than willing to help. How old is the boy? My daughter is 9 and will be there this week shooting.

how old do kids have to be for 4H?

no bickering, but one thing I cant stand is when people are judged because they're asking for help, especially for a child. It doesnt matter if neither or both of his parents are involved. If the kid wants to shoot a bow, lets help him get set up!!!

Not judging the Mom at all for asking for help, I think it is awesome! Also not judging the OP for asking for help, hence the kudos to the OP. I just hate seeing a young man starting life without a strong father figure. I will admit I may have fired off a little quick, but it is a sensitive subject for me.

Once again, since I do not know the whole scenario I will not judge the father, simply hope this is something that gets the father out in the field with his son and hopefully Mom too!

And I completey agree, if the boy wants to shoot, somebody will hook him up. I wish I was closer I would pick him up today and he could shoot with my 11 yo and 4 yo until his heart is content.

My son will be 5 on 10/1. I wonder if I can find a program in my area, I bet he would have fun. Is it expensive to join?
