Need help with rules and regulations

I know this probably has been mention a ton of times on here (and I have looked), but I am getting conflicting information and can not find it int he Outdoor annual on TPWD website. What is the minimal acreage to archery hunt in Texas? Also is it particular to each county? Thanks for any information you can provide.

As far as i know, there is no minimum acreage requirement. I've never heard of such...

Cities and municipalities may have acreage requirements, but there is no state minimum. If the land is inside the city limits, check your local regulations.

I believe there is a minimum acreage, I found it a few years ago. If I remember right it is 10 acres. I was surprised to hear it, and looked into it pretty deep. I'll see if I can find it again.

Edit - And I believe Aggie is right, it was a county reg, not state.

There is a 10 acre rule in most, if not all, municipalities. It's that way in Trophy Club for example. But, as far as i know, there is no minimum in unincorporated areas.

              From the TPWD Annual:

It is against the law to:

hunt in a subdivision with lots 10 acres or less in an unincorporated area of a county if the commissioners court, by order, prohibits the discharge of a firearm or the use of archery equipment in such subdivisions. (Contact local county clerk and ask about 235.022, Local Government Code.)

Yep, there it is. I called my CC a few years back to get clarification and never did get anyone to give me an answer. My question-

Has the CC prohibited discharge of a firearm or use of archery equipment in unincorporated areas of my county? Which would also presumably mean target practice? (Discharge) - They said target practice was OK. So I asked, then I can also hunt right? They said well I don't know about that ... ? My argument is that since the discharge is not prohibitted, then hunting is not prohibitted, at least that is how I read it, the if being the operative word.

You are correct. This rule basically means if it is illegal to shoot a gun or bow then it is illegal to hunt.
