Wench up feeder ? for the braintrust

How do y'all attach cable/chain to barrels? Bolt something like a eye bolt to the barrel? Welded/bolted bracket?
Ideas/suggestion welcome

Someone else's idea but I liked it. Use heavy all thread (3/4"-7/8") to run through the barrel. Put a nut inside and outside the barrel to keep the sides from flexing. You could even add a rubber washer to keep water out of the barrel.

I did this 2 weeks ago.

1 1/2" square tubing was the cheapest route I found.
