Adopting Blue Lacy ( need feedback )

Ive been wanting a Lacy for a long time now and recently my wife located one up for adoption. The problem is Ive heard so many horor stories about these so called rescue operations. My wife asked the woman who runs the place if she could come pick the dog up at the rescue center and the woman declined ( major red flag if you ask me ). What do you guys think ?

I'd suggest you schedule a place to meet the dog, learn the history, and spend some time. Then decide on your level of commitment and if your plans for the dog will fit to this dogs past.

Our lacy became much more docile after turning two.

    Good luck.

I would be hesitant. Ask questions, you never know. My best Lacy was adopted. Problem dog that needed a job. Still dog and human agressive but a working SOB. I have neutered him because I dont want those traits passed on.....I know where there is a 5 month old pup for 250.00 if you are intrested. Out of working parents, pm if you are intrested.

Spend time with the dog. Our lacy has turned a 180 since we got her and is an awesome little dog now. We just expected her to come around quicker and be like a love starved lab puppy. These dogs need time to learn to trust you, what to do and what you expect of them, when they do, they'll do anything for you as I'm learning.

I got mine when she was 1.5 years old. I got her from a fellow TBHer and I am so glad I got her!

There is also one on Easttexashogdoggers.com in the classifieds. It is a spayed female for 200.00. I dont know much about her, if the breeders are from Alto, they may be the Lowes, who have a good bloodline of working dogs.

I appreciate that Mitch but I kinda had my heart set on a red female. Got a deal in the works with a breeder in Georgetown right now on the exact dog I want

If it is the breeder I am thinking about you might want to re think it. Depending on what you want it might be the wrong person to get it from. Plus there is no need to spend 400 plus on a pup. Again, do some talking before you pick a breeder. Most will tell you what you want to hear, even some of the ones everyone tells you to talk to.
