Block topper/molasses stuff?

Anyone ever use this stuff on mineral blocks? Does it make them eat it more? Or don't bother?

I used to use it all the time. the deer hogs or something would move the block all over the place. I once found it like 50 yrds from where I had placed it. I never saw anything lick on it though
