    Merely a Question?

So the other day we had some friends over and they know how much I love to hunt. Adding to that, they also know that I love to ride my Harley. Anyways, long story short, the question was asked

"If you had to give one of those hobbies up, which one would it be?"

Now don't get me wrong here but that is an extremely hard question for me to answer and at the time I didn't. I would ask myself that same question for the next few days and I wanted to share with the green screen that I WOULD choose hunting over Harleys for a number of different reasons.

So out of curiosity, I was wondering how many of you guys/gals on here would give up their "other" hobby and choose hunting as well?

P.S.- thankfully I don't have to give up either one.

I would probably, at this time, give up hunting for fishing.

I did...duckhunting and fishing have come to a crawl....more by choice really. I spent the last 15-20 years of my life doing entirely to much of it....

For the last two years I have given up fishing for hunting but purely out of choice! Well......kind of... Long story and not a good one!

Pretty much given up drag racing for hunting. As others have said mainly due to cash reasons.

I would hate to give anything up but hunting is my favorite hobby bar none.

I see what you did there Oscar!! I am not sure I have another hobby that I could give up. Stopped playing baseball/softball, quit golfing, so this is all that is left.

I grew up fishing bass tournaments all over the state....I finally got bored with bass and switched to big stripers. Once I killed my first "big" deer with a bow I sold the boat.

Hunting is what I do! I live hunting year round either killing exotics, hogs, filling protien feeders, improving the habitat etc....! I like fishing and golfing and stuff like that as well but none come close to hunting in my book. That being said, I am pretty good at drinkin beer!

I gave up fishing and sold the boat 22 years ago. Now I still play hockey all through the summer once to twice a week but in the fall I relegate myself to subing for other goalies when they can't make it about once every 3 weeks.

As usual I am going in the other direction. I miss my bird hunting, fishing, golf, dirt bike, etc. Will be slowing down on hunting after this season.....

I've just about given up hunting for work, not really by choice we just have been swamped for the past 2 years, I use to hog hunt with dogs with my buddies and kids a lot and hopefully I am going to get back to the hunting soon. I am very thankful for all the work and we all make jokes about having a little $ but as I told my wife the other night $ really can't make you happy but I remember all the times I spent with my kids and I remember how happy it made me and now with my kids almost grown I really want to get all the family time I can in. My boys work for me but its just not the same as getting away with them and spending time away from all the hassels of everyday life.
