CHL Instructors...

I am filling out my paper work for CHL instructor and on the form it asks for address and location of the range you plan to use.

Question

Do you have to designate a certain location or can you teach at any range?

I know that many of the ranges around have a deal worked out with certain instructors but what if I wanted to set up a range on my ranch and teach from there or from really any temporary or permanent range I decide to set up (in a safe, controlled location or course).

To use a range for CHL it has to be DPS certified. You cant just throw up a few targets and call it good. They will have to come out and inspect your range and approve it before you can hold a class there.

On the application for the license it asks the instructors ID number and the ranges ID number. I think most ranges would let you shoot there, just means they will not be advertising for you.
