    This is a quote from a site I found by googling "timber rattlesnake Texas-I'd bet the snake in that pic is either on a 10' stick or something is not right. It clearly looks to exceed 40 inches and 1.3 to 2 lbs.

      That source is wrong. A seven footer would be about max.

              It's not a timber rattlesnake. Eastern diamondback? It probably is a really big snake. But not as big as it looks.

                                They grow some really big rattlers down south. I've seen huge snakes in Ga. & Fla.
