This is a quote from a site I found by googling "timber rattlesnake Texas-I'd bet the snake in that pic is either on a 10' stick or something is not right. It clearly looks to exceed 40 inches and 1.3 to 2 lbs.

That source is wrong. A seven footer would be about max.

It's not a timber rattlesnake. Eastern diamondback? It probably is a really big snake. But not as big as it looks.

not sure if it is real or not, but if it is real by the size of its head im not sure his snake boots would be much help..

They do look a bit inadequate don't they....

They grow some really big rattlers down south. I've seen huge snakes in Ga. & Fla.
