I'm working up here and will be for a few years it looks like. Anyone ever hunted up here public or outfitter? There are some giants running around, I'm only 50mi south of SK, Canada

There are some monsters up there . Lots of public land around Bismarck . Just about every land owner will let you hunt if you ask , it is not like Texas. I am not sure if it is still true but when I hunted there around 2000 , if the land was not posted you were free to hunt it . Public or private. Check out Devils lake between Devils lake and Grand forks. One year I saw over 500 deer in a 30 mile stretch. They migrate up there to yard up for the winter. If you are around Minot , check out the local sporting goods store and local cafe . We had more offers of hunting that we could use for the week we were there. Good Luck
Last time I hunted up there it never got warmer than 12 below zero.

I usually make it over 8-10 times a year. Archery tags are over the counter for whitetail and the season runs from the first saturday in September thru the first week of January. There is alot of excellent public hunting and as alec said most will let you on if you ask and respect their land.
