    Rain Gear

Looking to buy some hunting rain gear for my Elk hunt in New Mexico. I am looking for some quiet rain gear that I can haul in my pack. I looked at the Frog Toggs but it didnt look very quiet and I could not find any camo patterns locally just solid colors. I have looked at some light weight packable gear online at Cabela's but I have not seen it in person and its a little pricey. Any suggestions on products mentioned or other options?

You may want to try Cabelas or Bass Pros rain gear. I have had Cabelas suede rain gear. It is quiet. I think it ran about $120 for the suit. Good luck.

      I like this one.

Hard to go wrong with the HH rain gear. I just don't know how quiet it would be unless they are putting out hunter specific gear now?

The one thing about hunting when it is raining is that most of the time an animals hearing isn't going to be very good with all the pitter patter from the rain....I probably would sacrifice some stealth for a more comfortable hunt.

True..... I guess when I talk any hunting clothes I get stuck in that "gotta be quiet" mode no matter what clothes it is

I have the Browning packable raingear, just a little woosh/woosh like courdouroy pants but nothing too extreme. Fits in a small bag like a medicine kit sized. It is going with me to Colorado in a couple weeks for my Mule deer hunt.

Gore Tex. BPS has the same stuff in their brand called Squaltex. I own two suits and they work great.

I use Cablea's Dry-Plus rain gear and it is excellent.

Check out Helly Hansen sp, I ordered a 3/4 length guide rain coat for like 80.00, it is quiet and is highly recommended by the Alaskan/Yukon outfitters.

Thanks for all the input I went with this http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te...219&id=0026486 For some reason I could not complete the transaction online so I called them and I ended up getting a little better price. It was only about $2.00 cheaper but I will take it. FYI today is the last day for free shipping on orders over 99 with promo code 8XGEAR

I have gortex for my fishing rain suit but for hunting it is way too noisey, last time I was hunting in the Yukon the guide had me remove my gortex and he just gave me a plain old slicker like a fireman would wear.
