Nice to finally be able to zip a pair of snake boots up and be comfortable. Love the mocc style on the Chippewa zips as well....wide, light and comfortable..

Here are some pics. I'm very happy with the whole deal....Ponder did a bang up job.....and I think they must have a read a few TBH posts because they cleaned up the place a little since my last trip..

Thanks again Heath for heading this up...
Both Zippers broke on mine, so I just use the Velcro. It is hard to get it to line up with big calves though. Wonder if they could fix the calves, and the zippers. Sweet boots. What was the cost if you dont mind me asking?

They had to rip one side of the zipper stitching out to add the calf material out so I would imagine what you want is no problem.... Fightnaggie said he got his zippers repaired in San Antonio for $10 if that helps any so you PM ask him where he got it done if zippers is all you need done.

My cost was $35 as were several others on here...but she said she was bumping it up to $75 from here on out as this mod was cutting into her custom boot business.

Holy man calves, that's some serious additional material! Nice looking work.

I have a pair of the zippered ones, and last year at opening weekend the zipper broke on one of them. I took them to a boot repair guy here in Athens, and he said that the zippers were cheap, and that he could put new zippers in both of them for around $20. Needless to say i have new heavy duty zippers in mine now and they work great.

Yep after talking with fightnaggie (Barrett) when we bought our pairs from the outlet for $129, I am fully prepared to have to replace the zippers. I'll just get it done when it happens.

Didn't have much choice on the zippers though because there was no way in heck was I getting into the original Chips....

I really liked the Chippawa's but they wouldn't fit my "Popeye" calves. Custom sewn in gusset is a good idea. Very cool.
