I met them about 5 years ago when my daughter was 6. They quit signing autographs and talking to people to devote all attention to my daughter and her hunting story. Ralph got down on one knee and Vickie stood intently listening as Kenzie talked about out recent javi hunt and how she got to carry her bow and shoot at rabbits and "didn't hit one but gave a bunch of them hair cuts".
Ralph stood up 1/2 way through the story and shook my hand and said "thanks dad, that's what we need, young kids getting into the sport". Then got back down on a knee and listened to the rest of the story. When Kenzie was done, Vickie gave her a hat and pics that they both signed and lastly Vickie insisted she meet RJ and that they were comfortable enough to talk to each other before they moved on to the long line that was waiting. We said good bye then walked off. I may have gotten 10-15yds away and then felt a tap on my shoulder, Ralph came back up to me to say thanks for getting the kids involved again.
These folks are a class act and anyone that think they don't care and are phony has never spent a minute with them.
Good people. There show to me is the best show on TV hands down. They have fun together and they don't take crappy shots with a bow. Nothing fake about them or their show.
was at Simmon's Sporting Goods in Bastrop La. If you've never been there this is a sporting goods store on steriods!
they have an annual 3 week sale that is amazing! It ends today but I'm told they run the specials on many items past today till they run out.
They have a bigger inventory than the box stores IMHO. You just can't think of many things bow, gun, clothing, home furnishing, treestands, shoes etc. that they don't have plenty of.
As Cajun Blake can tell you them boys and girls in La. hunt and their stores always seem to be well stocked almost any time of the year. Guy's in the archery shop told me they send out 300,000 flyers in the mail and print twice that many drawing people from several states.
Back to Ralph and Vicki- Keeps story was just what I saw yesterday---more than once. They were so into it with the folks they missed lunch and finally after 1PM a guy that worked at the store made them take a break to get something to eat.
My wife was about to throw in the towel on hunting after a couple of lost does but decided to give it one more shot for a couples hunt Vicki and Ralph did in Florida 8, 9 years ago. As best I can tell, all Vicki and Ralph got out of it was some doing something to promote hunting with the family. I got a wife that wants to hunt as often as I do.
They have been great everytime I have seen em, and what you see on screen is exactly what they are like 24/7.

I lived in west Monroe for 6 years so I am familiar with Simmons sporting goods. From what I understand they have grown a lot since I was there.
I met Ralph & Vickie a couple of years ago at the ttha show and they seemed to be genuine and down to earth.

sounds like you were ther about the same time I was. I was visiting with them around noon. I was there also when a guy showed them some trail cam pics and was talking about there age. Maybe it was the same guy. You are right about them though, i was really impressed with them both. One guy asked about what was the best thing to plant for plots. i thought for sure they would push one of the name brand products, but Ralp said just go to the local feed store and buy regular oats and soybeans., He said there weas nothing better for a plot than a late season bean plot. Now that really impressed me.
