So my wife bought a little UV flashlight

She said it cost $2.99. Her idea was to use it to spot scorpions in the house. I took it into the closet earlier today and noticed it was not all that bright. A few minutes ago, she said she was going to try it out. I told her she would probably have to be really close to see one while thinking she was wasting her time. About 10 seconds later she said, "wanna come see one?" Little booger was on the floor in the bathroom and lit up like a green neon sign. I grabbed it with a wad of toilet paper and when she closed the door to let me by, there was a freaking HUGE huntsman spider on the wall. I screamed and ran like I usually do and she caught it in a bucket and took it outside. The scorpion was flushed down the toilet and the spider was caught and released. Hakuna matata I 'spose.

So, how is your Saturday evening going?

If you have a scorpion problem try this

    Bifen IT

Same active ingredient as Talstar P, the insecticide used by the pest control folks. A few applications, inside and out, over a few weeks and your scorpions will disapear. less than the cost of one pest control visit.

She found one more that was already dead. She found two out in the yard. I will check out the Bifen IT you mentioned.

You released a spider? Dang. I'd come more near releasing a rattlesnake than a spider. I hate spiders.

I have only found 2 in the five years we've lived hear. 1 when we first moved in, and the 2nd about a month and a 1/2 ago. I cut off the stinger and my 5 year old daughter played with it. She understood only because I cut off the stinger though.

One of those little bastages stung the fire out of me last night. That will wake you up quick, and there is no question what just happened! I flushed him and this morning there was another in the tub...... Looks like it is time for some Bifin IT!

I just killed one tonight. When I first moved in this house we had a bad problem with them. Putting copper mesh in the weep holes really slowed them down. Even pest control didn't seem to be helping until we did that. Then someone told us to put moth balls in the attics. I think it worked but don't go crazy like I did. Took forever to get that smell out of the house!

We use the all-natural alternative! Free-Range Chickens.
We've only seen maybe 5 scorpions in or around the house since we got them. When we moved in we were seeing them daily.

This year has been bad with them . Last wed night at 1 am I was woke up to something crawling on my chest as soon as my hand touched it I grabbed it and was pulling the Cpap breathing mask off with the other hand. I yelled at my wife she went off one side me the other the scorpion stayed in the middle where I had hit him a few times with my hand after he bit me on left side of my chest. We found and I was back asleep in 20 min but I was dreaming of spiders rest of the night . It made for long day at Rio Medina the next day.......We used to have a large number of the gecko lizzards but when no lizzards then here came the scorpions this year.....Andy

No offense but are you insane?

Of course I did not release the spider. My wife caught it and released it! I ran away shrieking and hid in another room until it was gone.

Can't stand the creepy crawlers, no matter what they are. As it was stated above, they would have both been smashed and flushed.

IMO the only good creepers, crawlers or sliders are DEAD ones, can't stand 'em!
