Just bought a Spott Hogg and not feeling it

I just picked up a Spott Hog Hunter and honestly I am not digging it. First off I will need a larger peep. I have a 1/4" meta peep. I will need a 5/16". I can't see the white ring or the level. Secondly and more important to me is that I don't feel like I can tighten anything. Everything has two screws to adjust it, but nothing to lock it in place. I try to tighten them against each other, but it feels like it is just twisting the head off. Also the horizontal and vertical adjustments have no way to tighten them. They are just worm screws.

Am I just not getting it? If I am doing something wrong, tell me.

Way too tedious for my liking, after all, it's an aiming device.

I have the hunter hogg it and love it! I lknow when you tighten them down no worries,never had one move on me yet. When you decide you have had enough let me know I will take it off your hands.

Put me in line too! I have a Hogg-It and I can't imagine me owning another sight. Get it sighted in and never worry about it again. It never moves until you want it to.

I've always thought that a huge part of being a good shot is confidence in both your ability and equipment. Whether the sight is truly locked down or not isn't really as big of an issue. What happens when you draw back on a buck? Will you be worried about your sight, or will you truly be confident in the shot that you're making? If it were me, I would switch it out with a piece of equipment that I have full faith in when I draw back on my next trophy.

I love mine, I have the Real Deal, I think thats the name. I would not take for it. They also have a great warranty....

I've been using the same Spott Hogg sight for over 6 years and couldn't imagine using another sight.

i like mine. no issues with pins moving but like J-Bone said if you are going to worry about it, it is probably better to get another sight, I will take the one you have off your hands for $50
