I am officially going on record as complaining about rainfall. I dumped 2.75" of rain out of our rain guage at 8:30 last night. At 10:15 the weatherman showed no rain cloud anywhere. At 11:30 the bottom opened up and it rained harder than I have ever seen it rain. Between 11:30 and 2:45 we had 10.25" of rain. Water was in alot of the homes in town and we were without electricity until 7 this morning. It was 3' deep running across highway 36 at 3 this morning. I tried to take some pictures of it but I am not good at night time pics. Here are some pics from our place after the sun came up.

The hay bales in this picture had been all staked togther right next to each other and the water spread them out all over the place like that.

I have not kept track of the rainfall totals at our ranch in LaSalle co. ... but I hear the ranch behind us has received more rain during the last month then they received for all of 2005 & 2006 combined...

That shouldn't be hard to do. We got our rears handed to us the last several seasons. Bring it!

Johnny it wouldn't bother me if I never see it rain like that again.

Had to fix a lot of fence, and still waiting to be able to bale hay, but bring it. Especially right before the 4th of July. Maybe I won't have to fight fires this year.
Looks like us in NTX are in for a good bit more of it tonight and tomorrow.

Quick weather update for the future. The rain isn't going anywhere anytime soon. It looks like we will have pretty decent rain chances all the way through the 4th of July!

                        **** you Johnny (grin)

when I saw Dr. Lyons of the Weather Channel during the tropical update show a map with a big high pressure system sitting over the eastern gulf...it looks like the kind of thing that would circulate/steer all that gulf moisture right into texas.

Plus, if that stays and we start getting some storms in the gulf...it looked like the kind of thing that would keep storms off western Florida and Alabama....and steer them right into Texas.
