Makita makes a hell of a cordless with long battery life and a lot of torque.

I have the delta tools that come in an 18V 4 piece kit and don't have any complaints. I have had it for 4 years. Ryobi makes a kit too that my dad has and his have worked fine for 2 years or more.

Dittos on the Makita. I got one earlier this year that
comes with a really good flashlight that uses same batteries. It was about a hundred and a half.

I have 2 of the 18 volts one was a Christmas gift last year. The other I have had for about 6 years with no problems, but the wife thought I needed a new one.

              Duck,
I got the Ryobi kit..it came with drill, 5" skill saw , sander, light, charger, and 2 batteries for $99 at Lowe's. I don't have to use it everyday like some of my Buddies, who use mostly Dewalt...but for weekender stuff I got no complaints. The kit was on sale and I had a choice of which 4 tools I chose...all with same batts....sawzall will be next tool added

I like the Rigid line of tools from HDepot

I use Ryobi, but it's just because they are cheap, batteries are cheap and I have about a half dozen of them already with about twenty batteries scattered all over my trucks, and the southern part of Dallas.....

I have used Dewalt, and I have been less than impressed.

If you just need a drill don't bother with the multi-tool kits. I bought one with the small circular saw and the saw wears out the battery so fast it isn't worth using.

I like DeWalt, but my cabinet maker swears by the new Makita.

My son loves the Ryobi kit I got for him as a birthday present, not sure what to get him for his 4th birthday though
