I was just wonderin when do you let your lease settle down before the season. Do you not worry about spookin the deer or do stop gettin close to your stands at a certain time before the season. I usaully stop coming in close to my hot spots about 2 weeks before unless Im checkin my cameras and even then Im in and out quick.

We are always wondering around on our place, although we do try to settle down right after Dove Season, and we also try to keep everything nice and quiet even while hunting dove. I mean if we are just sitting around doing nothing, then we just try to stay quiet and not move around a bunch. But I have seen deer walk right up some of the trails while we were fishing.

Depends on where you are hunting. If you are out in the middle of no where then any unusual noise, smells and sounds will keep them alert any time. If you are hunting a place like mine where the farmer runs his operation and people are constantly in and out they really don't seem to care. Every time I go the property there are deer everywhere. Last week there were 2 bucks 40 yards from the ranchers back yard. O Yea! He's lived there for 50 years and they've never shot a deer.

I try to target mid september to finish mowing and planting. Usually look for some rain in the forcast. We don't start hunting untill two weeks before gun season. Lots of guys plant opening day of bow season. Lease rules say hunt with whatever you want, bow or gun, but everybody starts hunting on the same day.
