Cool. I had a friend ask me about something similiar last year and I didn't have an answer for him. I just e-mailed him that link, I'll see what he says about it. It may have been what he found.

So thats what those are! When i was a kid we used to swim in star ditch on caddo lake and scar the life out of passing boats. There were tons of those in there. Creeps ya out pretty good for a big one to bump into your leg while you are in water with gators in it. We always thought they were wads of eggs of some kind.

My friend said that was EXACTLY what it was. He found it in a canal behnid his house in the dfw area. It had been driving him crazy trying to figure out what it was.
