Chiggers are getting really bad at the lease. Does anyone know the best way to repel these, or a good place to buy some? I heard that sulpher works really well.
a good dusting with sulphur is your best bet. Other than that, any insect repellent with a high DEET concentration. I've been known to strap flea collars around my boots at times
Seven dust is amazing works even if you are in shorts my wife was in crocks with socks and capris and put some on her shoes and socks at the end of the day no chiggers
Assuming you are just working on the lease and not hunting, as stated above, Off works good. Be sure to especially spray around your ankles, socks, waist band, etc.
Powdered sulfur from the garden store in an old sock. Dust your boots and pant legs. I keep the sock in a coffee can to keep the sulfur dry. The only thing I dont like about it is it makes your laundry smell like sulphur.

I use to do the same thing years ago and it works great. Only problem is that it has an odor and might not be good for hunting.
As a kid growing up coon hunting we used sulphur in the sock - works great but does make that bach of laundry smell
I also don't think sulphur bothered the deer or the hogs - like a cover scent
After going to Nam where they gave us the little bottle of 100% DEET - I'm a believer
While in College I worked on Fort Hood one summer doing vegetation surveys and we were in perfect chigger habitat for 10 hours a day 6 days a week. The best thing we found to work and not ruin your clothes or make you stink like sulphar, was to use a 100% deet lotion from the knee down and then spray our pants and boots with deepwoods off. We never got chiggers once we started using this method.
Permanone works really well and doesn't have an odor. It is sprayed on the clothing but not on your skin and supposedly will repel chiggers and ticks for several washings. Unfortunately I couldn't find any last time I checked Wallyworld.
