    Who makes the best AR.

    IMO - Noveske - Larue - LMT - Me

    Not necessarily in that order.

Get ready, it's like asking which is better Ford or Chevy or Dodge.
Get something you like and feel comfortable with and run some rounds through it!!

It depends on who you ask of course. The above mentioned are the top tier. If you are talking about the middle tier guys I like stag.

I'm looking at Stag, Rock River,Olimpic and Bushmaster, or even build one myself.

I don't think you can beat a Rock River without paying 2-3X as much. Very tight tolerances, just feels solid, Wilson barrel with 1 MOA guarantee, 2 stage match trigger with zero creep. I just absolutely love mine.

                      Depends on what you want.

                      AR15

Superior Battle Rifle- Knights Armament, then Colt

Precision- Larue, LWRC, Noveske- To be honest, Noveske's innovation the last year or so IMO is lacking.

Best 1000 dollar AR- LMT, BCM/Spike's, CMMG in that Order-Probably best bang for your buck guns.

Best of the Major Manufacturer Guns- Probably Bushmaster or Rock River

Not sure where to put Daniel Defense in all that.

That's the way I see it.

                      AR10 or SR25 Type 308

Superior Battle Rifle- Knights, LMT (British Version) (Half the price, 25% more weight)

                      Precision- Larue, LWRC, Noveske

Sub 2k Price- DPMS, Armalite- Supposedly Spike's 308 that will land around January 1 should be in this area.

All in all, here is how I rank the top manufacturer's. Combination of everything above, cost of gun included.

Knights, Larue, LMT/Noveske, Colt (No 308)/LWRC, Spike's/BCM/Daniel Defense, CMMG, RRA, Bushmaster/DPMS

I built my AR's using Rock River parts. Agree with Martin-Easy, Rock River just seems to have tighter tolerances than some of the others.

I got to finger one of these

                          http://www.lewismachine.net/product....2aa5513623d212

                          At this store on Friday

                          http://www.ironmine.net/index.html

It was heavy and it wanted to go home with me but alas I am trying hard to remain debt free. I think he wanted $2499 for it.

My buddy at work has a Daniel Defense...WOW. That's a sweet ride. Those quad rails alone are $400! It's hard to rate them all because of the price variances but Mesquitecountry probably did the best review of the upper echelon AR's. Although on a few of those, I think you're just paying for the name. I was going to carry mine as a patrol rifle so I wanted reliability, I researched online for a long time. What sold me was the DEA torture test and RRA won the contract and in fact, their Government Model is the civilian version of that rifle the DEA carries on tactical entries and such. Go check out the he-double-hockey-sticks they put those guns through.

Good summaries. I'd add S&W to the top end list too.
