Well I was at the lease this weekend and took my display replacements with me. I did get them changed out, but the screwdrivers I had were to big for the last mother board and the display screws itself. I bought a set of cheap workforce screwdrivers that are pretty dang small and the smallest one in the case is a 1.4 mm and it was to big. To make this a simple task you need a very tiny phillips head screwdriver something like a jewelers size maybe. I was able to get the last (smallest) screws out by using a small pair of needle nose pliars wich was a pain in the arse and took some time to get done. Be prepared when you take this on by having the right size screwdrivers.

Just go to the website and get the number and call them or send them an e-mail. I got mine is about 3-4 days. One other note make sure the switch to turn it on lines up when you put it back together it is easy for it to get out of place and it WILL reasseble with it out of the proper location and then you would have to mess with those tiny screws again.

protecting the new I-40 display?
Hey I just successfully replaced my I40 display. Took a little while the first time around but not too bad.
My question: has anyone come up with a confirmed solution to extending thelife of the display? I heard about taping over them etc. but not sure if it really works. Thanks!

I have two of them. I keep my displays out of the sun and they seem to last about 2 years years. When they go out just call them and you will receive replacements in just a couple of days. Takes about 10 minutes to change them out. If any of ya'll decide it is to much trouble then just sale them to me, but remember that are a piece of crap so price them accordingly.......LOL.

I'm thinking the burn out is because of the fact that they're constantly on. I may be wrong but I don't think the display ever goes into sleep mode.
The display problem is tolerable to me besause of the great pics and battery life.
Everybody bailed out and bought Bushnell Trophy Cams, but the 3 I dealt with at a friends place had problems and based on TBH reports, a lot of folks are sending theirs back.
I got 3700 pics on my I40 last lease trip and it was still going. No blackouts or whiteouts and great quality. I'll keep fixing the displays!

Great to know! Two of mine went out this year at the same time both of these are three to four years old and as said above mine have been great and I have never had a problem until this year. The other problem i have is a wood ****** pecked out the motion sensor plastic piece. Will they replace this? I put a clear piece of plexiglass over it and now its not working right any ideas?

I located a web page back in winter by a guy that found the cause of the problem and was selling replacement screens. Anyway he said the problem is actually some plastic that is melted to hold the lens covers on the inside of the box. This plastic puts pressure on the screen. Liquid crystal screens do not like this and will fail from the bottom up as that is where the pressure point is. I trimmed the plastic away so that when the board with screen is mounted the front of the screen no longer has contact with the case or clear cover. So far it has worked without problems.
