Anyone use one of these while hunting/videoing?

Anybody ever use a gorillapod for videoing hunts? Will it fit tightly enough around a ladder or small branch?

It depends how heavy of a camera you have. I've scene people wrap them around a banister with a pretty heavy SLR camera attached.

seriously I cant see that thing being verystable especially wrapped around a stand as you were desribing. Just buy a tree/stand arm for the proper weight of your camera. Whywaste time money and shots on a good deer on something that probably isnt going to work right. IMHO those things would only be worth it for a very small point and shoot camera on a sturdy table top. But what do I know anyway right?

Ive used them. They are ok for the smaller cameras. I do suggest just buying a gorilla arm and putting your camera on that. They are fine for filming in a box stand though.

                  These things are really cool
                  Just found this link.

Save yourself a little money @ Walmart?

They work pretty slick for a 2nd camera angle in a fixed location (no panning or moving the camera around).
I know of several people who used them and said they liked how they worked for that?

Thanks for reminding me with this thread, need to pick one up.
At 8.5oz., it will be light in a backpack, or camerabag.

I used one a few times, but then one of the legs broke. Once you bend them a few times, they get weak apparently.

I made this to use instead:

Where did you get the parts for that Shane and what do you have in it as far as cost.

I like this one and it does not matter what angle of the tree since it screws to the tree.

They come in different sizes depending on the size of your camera. I have a smaller one I used with my little Nikon cam and it worked ok...but it is lost in my gear bag now.

I use on of the MEDIUM length arms on it. Does great for a typical DIY vid camera. Wraps great on nearby limbs and such. NO complaints yet. I like it.
