Let them step forward and let em have it right in the arm pit. You will never loose a hog.

i've not shot a hog before, but i'll stick one if it comes around while i'm looking for deer this fall. had the situation presented itself last year, i'll bet i would've had a lost hog for the exact same reason. sure am glad this thread popped up & i clicked on it!
Something very simple, The conduit pipe is at the heart. they move the rings back for points, not kill shots.

When I can attend a 3-d shoot with Mckenzie targets, I have them leave my arrow in so I can stand over the top and look at the angles the arrow entered, what vital was hit by.... #1 the spot I chose to shoot the animal, #2 if I took out the vitals with that shot.

I can't afford all those targets, so I'll gladly pay $20-$25 to shoot 30 Mackenzie animals.

Being a Stykbow shooter, I shoot Kills shots, not for points.
I still place 2nd or third, if I'm a killing machine I ace all 8 points with not many missed and a few back shots which by there rules are 10 points.
But sometimes a heart shot hits the pipe and I lose an arrow. But then again, I do smile that it cost me an arrow.( they make them by the thousands for people just like me ya know!!)

Just have a good bowhunt when ya go out, it's you against you. not you and hog.
I've let more hogs walk than I've killed. I don't drop the string on every hunt. But I do enjoy the hunt, every time.

Keep'em sharp, Keep'em straight, and if you don't get pictures it didn't happen......... (Hmmm like that, might be my Signature)
