    Romantic/Relaxing Getaway???

I'm looking for ideas on a romantic and relaxing getaway. With the stress of things around the house and work we are wanting to get away for a couple days. We've done San Antonio before, however those trips were as a family not just the 2 of us. We've done the hill country, but that was several years ago. I'd like to keep it within a 4-5 hour drive of Houston since it will only be a 2-3 day trip. I'm open to any suggestion even if it's SanAntonio or the Hill Country. I looked at some websites for Bed and Breakfasts in the Hill Country and the shear number of them is overwhelming, so if that is your suggestion please suggest a certain place if you know of one.

I would go to Galveston if I were in Houston. Good luck and have a blast!

Galveston is an option, except I'm not sure that is far enough away. We also go to Galveston several times a year and would like to possibly try something else. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I know its hot, but have you considered tent camping on Bolivar? find a remote stretch of beach and spend a few days alone.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that isn't going to happen. I have respiratory issues, so I have to have my a/c at night. Not to mention I hate the beach. I will go to Galveston, but I don't do the beach. We get a beach house every summer and I hang in the house while everyone else enjoys the beach.

Some additional info that may help in suggesting a place. We both like to fish, so if we could find a place that includes fishing whether it be salt or fresh that me be the ticket.

Stayed here once... http://www.medinariverranchresort.com/index.html Don't know if I'd necessarily call it romantic, but it was a nice place.

My wife and I did the riverwalk last spring. Not overly romantic I suppose, but was nice. It was enjoyable to walk to and from dinner- nice scenery, conversation, and we could both have a few drinks if we wanted.

This is where I take my wife for the romantic getaway. Heading down for her birthday this weekend. Get a room at the San Luis or Hilton with beach side balcony, quiet and relaxing.

It is about 6 hours away, but we stayed here this weekend.

                        Woodland Plantation

It was a beautiful B&B and the owners were super nice! Food & drinks were wonderful and there is plenty of fishing.

Hope you and Erica have a relaxin' good time where ever you decide to go.

River Rim Resort is a hidden treasure in the Texas Hill Country sitting on five acres overlooking the pristine Frio River. Located between Concan and Garner SP.

Country Inn & Cottages located in Fredericksburg, TX. Best place to stay in Fredericksburg, TX. Quite B&B in Fredericksburg, TX.

Go stay at the Menger Hotel in San Antonio, eat dinner at Morton's steak house and take a carriage ride. Hit up the Menger Bar for after dinner drinks and a cigar. Go see the Alamo and buckhorn saloon.

That's what we did for our one yr. wedding aniv and loved it!
