Going to Alaska moose hunting

I have a moose hunt booked September 8-20 in Alaska, my outfitter has offered a brown/grizzly bear for an additional 5K, you are only out 500.00 if you do not get one because of the tag cost, he said I can just buy the bear tag only and it is good for a moose also, if I shoot a moose first they will have extra tags for purchase at camp so I can continue hunting. He said it is pretty much a given if you shoot a moose that there will be a bear on the gut pile within 24 hours. That price is less than half of what a bear hunt would cost by itself. I am not rich by any means but could come up with the extra funds if I had to, I kinda think it is a no brainer but I still have not talked myself into it, I guess I will just play it by ear, what would you do ?

Is this with bow or gun? I went on a moose hunt with a rifle in BC last september. I grizzly would be my ultimate hunt!! I would go for it.

A friend of mine went 2 yrs ago on a float trip for moose he got a 63 inch and his Buddy (Alaskan Resident) shot a Grizz solid 500lbs it was well worth the money.They saw 3 Bears feeding in 6 days on the river.

An Alaskan moose with a bow is my dream hunt of a life time! A bear would be icing on the cake!

If you ever want to take a bear in your life, you might as well as do it on your moose hunt if it costs half as much as a bear hunt by itself. Saves more money in the long run.

This Exactly ....So the Tag just isnt for a bear it can be used on several different animals...
