    Martin Shooters

Just a rant to announce publicly that I no longer will be a Martin Shooter.

    Long story short--

I bought a 2008 Bengal rated at 55 -70 limbs. The bow was never set up and from a archery shop on Ebay. Now I know what ur thinkin ebay...whatever.., there's ur prob. I assure you that it was a new bow with shelf tags and all. Never set up and as sold as advertised. The bow never felt like it was full 70lbs?? I shot it and broke it in and adjust and adjusted and adjusted and could never get it past 64lbs.

Contacted Martin and explained situation. They agreed that it should be higher weight. In fact they said that from the factory it would be set to 74lbs. Please note.(Martin Life Time Warranty) Martin stated that if the strings were not stretched or other probs. Then it must be the limbs. Suggested a limb exchange through a dealer. AWESOME right??? Nope.

After contacting 2 shops they even stated that it had to be the limbs. Cabellas says they will contact Martin and get this thing going.
Skip forward a week. After having to borrow a bow for the FF OLys.

Cabellas contacts Martin and myself on a 3 way call. Martin asked for the receipt and by the way we do not have the same camo. No prob send me the black ones and I will pay the difference. Gladly.,... After explaining I did not have a receipt but offered all other info. Martin stated that no warranty and would have to pay full price. They stated they cannot know what happens after the bow leaves the wharehouse.???? Since it was an Ebay deal no way either. I asked about what would happen if it happened from a shop if they cannot know what happens from Walla Walla???

After explaining my concern with their so called WARRANTY?? I told them that I would no longer be shooting the 3 Martins I own. And they just lost a loyal customer.

After hangin up I realized that my phone kept the line between Cabellas and Martin open. I picked up the phone to hang up again... The conversation went into price.... Aha...

Cabellas" What is the price for the black limbs"
Martin Tech "79. whatever, but u guys buy in bulk so prob less"
    Cabellas" What is MSRP?"
    Martin " 191.00"
Cabellas " I will contact him"
    Skip forward...10 mins later.
Cabellas " Mr ... we have a price for u"
    Me "and "
    Cabellas "149.00"
Me "Um I overheard that they were 79.00?"
Cabellas "Well I tried to work the best deal I could do with my Supervisor. We are actually saving u 50.00"
Me "Then please do not order them, I am done with Martin and I am sorry for ur long drawn out ordeal. Thanx again.

I was willing to pay the 80.00 even. Cabellas said no.

    Thanx for the Rant time..

Wow I have had nothing but excellent service out of Martin. Sorry to hear about your dealings. On a side note it sounded like you just had 60lb limbs. It is like the old saying goes "it takes years to gain customers and just moments to lose them"!

I did finally resort to believing from what the tech said that they may be 60lbs and sticker was wrong?? I was cool with that but I hate to leave them but refuse to be done like that and ur statement is very correct. 2 mins to lose my confidence with them and sorry because thay have always been helpful.

Sorry to hear this. Martin has always gone WAY above and beyond for me. Who did you talk to at Martin. I always spoke to Joel. Did you measure from axle to axle? It should be very close to 32 inches. Sounds like a cable that needs twisted. Check on Archerytalk is you still think it's a limb problem.

Man that does suck, between me and my dad we have 3 Martins and I have a Rytera and have never had any problems with them, I have called up Martin before with some questions and got a pretty rude sales rep, but I figured that I had just cought them at a bad time that day.....sorry for your trouble.

As a manufacturer i would have a problem warranting something that was sold to someone and then re-sold on ebay.

Don't go to Hoyt. They won't honor a warranty in this situation either.

Hoyt is suppose to honor it.

Again sorry for your situation. I have always been a Mathews fan, but to me you can not top the Elite warrenty. I have never shot their bows before but the lifetime transferable warrenty and the "Hunt" warrenty or whatever they call it is amazing. I am not sure of any other companies that are doing this.

I would go by a case by case basis.
For 80 dollars u would lose a customer with 3??? I would have to get the limbs first but would still try to keep my customers.

                      But thanx for the opinion.
