Cucumber gone MEGA on me!

My wife bought this cucumber plant from a local nursery a few months back. Well, i saw that it was blooming pretty good so i was expecting to have some good salad toppings shortly. I noticed that it was not turning the normal dark green and was growing super fast and i think what this is, is called a "Snake Cucumber" instead of the regular. Have yall seen this kind before?

I have 4 of them this big. I cut one open and tasted it and it wasn't ripe yet.

In my opinion when I let mine grow too big (not anywhere near that size though), they tend to taste bitter, so perhaps its not that they arent ripe, maybe they are overripe

I think a asian man behind me has those growing on his fence, I thought it was some kind of squash.

my dad said the same thing. he said he wont let his get bigger than 12" or so. When this one started out it was about 12". 4 days later and i had what was in the pic.
