    WACO fishing spot??

My girlfriend has just started fishing and now she can't get enough. I never thought I would see her bait a hook with a night crawler but she does. I am looking for a spot near Waco were I could take her to catch something bigger than a perch. If anyone knows of a spot we could catch some catfish from the bank that would be awesome. Also a recommendation of what kind of bait to use would be a great help. I am not looking to steal someones "honey hole" just a good spot that's easy to get to and has a few fish. The closer to Waco the better but we would be happy to drive 30 minutes or so if you know a really good spot. Thanks for the help and I will post pictures of any fish she catches.
    Thanks again.

x2! Whitney is the place to be. Lake Waco is pretty worthless for most rod&reel fishing, but you can have pretty good luck with catfish juglines. (I mostly caught alligator gar when fishin' from a boat.)

Tradinghouse Creek Reservoir is just outside of Waco, and I've done pretty well there before.

      Good luck!
