Prayers for a Fallen Fire Fighter & Family

Joel Otwell a Lancaster Fire Fighter passed away today at the age of 49. He was a member of our church and a classmate in our bible study class.

Sunday during our bible study class Joel left the room for a few moments. The next thing we hear is a loud noise in the hallway. A member of our class checks the hall to see Joel Otwell lying on the floor. We all rush to his aid and our youth leader Matt Ball who is also a paramedic was at his side within a minute. Joel was unconcious and not responding at all with a very low pulse. He finally started to come around but didn't know where he was. 911 was called immediately and before it was all over careflight was on its way. He was taken to Methodist Dallas and seemed to be getting better but then took a turn for the worse. Joel passed away today of severe brain trama and will be sadly missed by all he came in contact with. Please lift up your prayers for him and his family. This is so sad to see happen. Please pray for his wife who stayed by his side the whole time. Please pray for everyone involved. The Lancaster FD is an amazing true brotherhood. They never left him, stood vigil 24/7, brought food in for the family, covered the hotel as family members continued to come into town, and when they took him down stairs, they lined both sides of the hallway to say goodbye. What an amazing show of love and support. He will receive a full fireman's send off. The service will be held at 10 am Monday morning at Denton Bible Church, and grave side to follow at Belew Cemetary in Pilot Point on Hwy. 377 N.
