iPhone 4 problem solved

Some of you may be aware that my iPhone 4 was having major reception problems but today I think I may have fixed it. My phone would hardly ever have more than 1 bar inside my house, I was constantly dropping calls and incoming calls were going straight to voicemail. I upgraded to the new iOS 4.0.1 the other day and saw no improvement so today I went back to the AT&T store and they fixed it in less than five minutes.

IT WAS THE DANG SIM CARD!!!

The guy who helped me told me they had been replacing a lot of cards in the iPhone 4, which uses the new very tiny SIM cards.

I'm sitting in my house posting this via Tapatalk and have 5 bars of antenna! I'm very happy.

So, if your reception sucks on your new iPhone you might try a new SIM.

Good deal. Glad to hear it. It had me real worried to see such a loyal iPhone user so frustrated since I just pulled the trigger on my first one. I've had it for about 24 hours and I love it so far.

I might have to try this Tyge. I've had some pretty crappy data performance as of late due to low signal.

All it takes is a paper clip. There is hole on the side and you push it and the tray w/sim pops out.

The sim card on the Iphone 4 is located on the side of the phone, not on the top as it was on the 3G.

Yeah I was pretty surprised when I got home and my reception issues seemed to have gone away by just replacing the SIM card. The guy told me his store had been replacing one or two a day since the launch, which is strange because I haven't read anything about this issue. His explanation was that a bad SIM card can and will decrease your reception.

This issue has nothing to do with how you hold the phone. I've tested mine a couple of times and can't get it to loose signal by touching the aluminum band around it like has been reported. That wouldn't be an issue with me anyway as I've ALWAYS had my phone in a case.

wondering if this is a covert blame game and if in fact whether or not there is a behind the scenes cracking open of the case and an insulator of some type put on the offending short from whatever to the band....when apple lost so much coin when this hit the fan, it would not surprise me if this would be the new ruse....blame it on a faulty batch of sims...

yeah yeah...it's plausible....especially with so much coin at stake...

I know i changed the sim card in my blackberry a couple of weeks before i got my iphone last year. i went from having a bar sometimes 2 around the house to having full signal nearly everywhere.
