    I love how the TBH family keeps each other informed without jumping down each other's throats! It shows that we are a very mature audiance. I love TBH!!!

    This is what more organizations should be like. Who knows...maybe some day there will be a TBH'er in office.

      What about James Werner, the Libertarian Party?

      He seems to have his head on straight. Other than the immigration problems, I really like his opinion on everything. The immigration problems will be too big for him to go his way, so he may just get my vote.

      He will nix the TTC, too.

      But, I'm still thinking.

        Mysterious TxDOT Myth Number 10

        All land will be owned by the Spanish government.

        TxDOT’s Response: No. TTC-35 is a state-owned project and any land purchased or transportation improvements built will be done in the name of the state. All property acquired will be the property of the State of Texas. Should Cintra Zachry or another private group develop any portion of TTC-35, their role will be to finance, design, build, maintain, operate and collect a portion of tolls for a period of time.

        CorridorWatch: No. All land acquired will be the property of the State of Texas. TxDOT concessionaires will however be granted yet unknown rights and powers to control the use of, and operations on, that land for fifty or more years. For practical purposes the care, custody and control exercised by the concessionaire may be virtually the same as if they owned the land themselves

          Chris Bell is a typical "the government is the answer to all your problems so pay your taxes and let us smart people run your life" Democrat. No to the Kinkster for all the aforementioned reasons. Strayhorn's quasi-populism and attempts to paint herself as "an Austin outsider" really puts me off. And by the way, what makes her think that being a Grandmother makes her more attractive as a candidate? Enough, already with the "tough Grandama" routine! I will once again, hold my nose and vote for Perry.

              I watched the governor’s debate a few weeks back and this is what I gathered.

              Kinky- just an idiot

              Grandma- She could not give a straight answer any questions that she did not have a prepared answer for. I interpret that as either she can’t think for herself or she is very under informed of what is really going on.

              Bell-Seemed informed, but a little timid. Too liberal for me personally.

              Perry-Was well informed and confident in his answers. I don’t think the state can afford to train any of the other three candidates.

              I feel the corridor is going to happen regardless, it is just like Wal-Mart moving in and putting ma and pa shops out of business. It is just progress. I understand the not in my back yard stance. Before the uproar gets started, there is now a highway through our family farm in Illinois. My great uncle sold the land to the state for $1.

                If you know the questions ahead of time this should not be hard to do

                    Chris Bell- weak hearted last minute candidate who solely runs for the sake of people who want to beat Republicans. He didn't even throw his hat in the ring until August. Joke

                    Kinky If I wanted to smoke a fatty and shoot the breeze about the meaning of life....I don't think Texas needs a novelty governor like Arnold or Jesse Ventura

                    GrannyIf I hear her say "I'm gonna shake Austin up" one more time I may vomit and you would think with a topic as hot as our borders and the importance of trade she would at least have a clue what the President of Mexico's name is.....

                    Perry It's aint because I feel he the bomb but mostly by default. He's tough on crime at least he represents him self professionally. Wish we had someone else who would step up but its definitely not the other 3 candidates.

                      Perry!

                      NRA-ILA Grassroots Alert Vol. 13, No. 44 11/03/06

                      MAKE YOUR VOTE COUNT--
                      PROVE THE MEDIA WRONG!

                      Four days from now, Tuesday, November 7, is Election Day! It is the day when all of our hard work will pay off as NRA members and gun owners go to the polls across the nation to elect all 435 members of the U.S. House of Representatives, 33 U.S. Senators, 36 Governors, and thousands of state and local elected officials.

                      While some pundits and pollsters may be predicting disaster for our candidates, don't believe it! Their goal is to hoodwink you into believing that the elections are already over and your vote won't matter. Don't let this political propaganda dissuade you and your fellow lovers of freedom from exercising your right to vote on Tuesday!

                      Remember, the only poll that will matter is the one released when the polls close Tuesday and the voters have spoken!

                      For those who tell you that your one vote won't make a difference, consider the following:

                      In 1845, ONE VOTE brought Texas into the Union;

                      In 1878, ONE VOTE gave Rutherford B. Hayes the Presidency of the United States;

                      In 1941, ONE VOTE saved Selective Service-just weeks before Pearl Harbor was attacked; -FL Div. Of Elections

                      In 1994, a race for the U.S. House was originally decided by four votes;

                      In 1998, a U.S. Senate race was decided by 400 votes out of 400,000 cast;

                      In 2002, an anti-gun candidate in a state primary race in AZ won by FIVE votes;

                      In 2003, one vote upheld the campaign finance "reform" law;

                      In 2004, the Washington Governor's race was decided by 42 votes out of 2.8 million cast;

                      In January 2006, two votes sustained Gov. Doyle's veto of Right-to-Carry in Wisconsin.AND OF COURSE.

                      Where would we be today if 537 gun owners in Florida's 2000 presidential election felt their vote didn't count???

                      Need additional motivation? Go to www.givethemback.com, which has additional video and testimonials on the travesty that occurred in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina when police and law enforcement confiscated lawfully-owned firearms--at precisely the time citizens needed them most for self-defense! This website provides chilling video of the horrifying crimes committed against lawful New Orleans' gun owners.

                      And, remember, this happened, in of all places, the State of Louisiana--the "Sportsmen's Paradise!" While NRA has succeeded in passing a federal law to prevent this miscarriage of justice from happening again, you must keep in mind that this law can be overturned if Tuesday's elections don't go our way.

                      You can bet a United States House of Representatives led by Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Cal.), or an anti-gun Senate emboldened with leaders like Hillary Clinton, Chuck Schumer, and Ted Kennedy, would work to overturn this law and/or appoint federal judges who would no doubt work to strike it from the books. If it could happen in Louisiana, with the "wrong" congressional leadership, it could happen anywhere!

                      The only thing standing between similar, future threats to our freedom is your vote Tuesday!

                      Please make sure you vote on Tuesday, November 7, and bring your family, friends, and fellow firearm owners to the polls with you. If you have already voted early or via absentee ballot, please volunteer some time to the Election Day efforts of pro-gun candidates' campaigns in your areas.

                      For candidate grades and endorsements, or to contact area campaigns or your local NRA-ILA Election Volunteer Coordinator to assist on Tuesday, please visit www.NRAPVF.org.

                      And as always, please share this information with your family, friends, and fellow firearm owners, as there is no time to waste!

                      Thank you very much for your efforts and on to victory Tuesday November 7!

                      "GIVE THEM BACK"

                      In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, law-abiding citizens had their lawfully owned firearms confiscated by local officials! When citizens needed protection the most, they were stripped of their right to self-defense. As you've also read, President Bush recently signed NRA-backed legislation to ensure such travesties are never repeated.

                      NRA has launched a new web site-- www.givethemback.com --with shocking video coverage of New Orleans gun confiscations that you'll never see on ABC, CBS, or NBC. This site gives gun owners a stark and brutal reminder of why we must defend our firearm freedoms with passion and vigilance, in Congress, in state legislatures, in the courts.AND ON ELECTION DAY.

                      This site makes it clear why gun owners can never sit on the sidelines during an election, and serves as a wake up call for every gun owner who thinks anti-gun politicians don't have the nerve or the will to confiscate our guns. And why they must be defeated before they ever get their hands on power!

                      Please be sure to visit www.givethemback.com today, and forward the link to your friends, family, and fellow gun owners. Remember what happened in New Orleans, and let your voice be heard on Election Day--"Vote Freedom First" on November 7! With your help, we're going to make the first time in New Orleans the LAST time in America.

                              Dallas Morning News (11/02/06):
                              Strayhorn Express
                              Carole Keeton Strayhorn has gotten support on the campaign trail from opponents of the Trans-Texas Corridor. About 50 vocal opponents of Gov. Rick Perry’s toll-road project showed up in Waco on Wednesday, waving placards and cheering Mrs. Strayhorn, who has made the issue a central theme of the campaign.

                              As she does at every campaign stop, she denounced the governor’s toll-road initiative as a “land grab” and “a catastrophe.” She said public roads are the way to go.

                              Arriving in Dallas at drive-time Wednesday evening, the Strayhorn entourage found the public highways congested. The solution? The Dallas North Tollway, which the Strayhorn entourage used to zip to a campaign stop at City Hall.

                              Asked about it later on the campaign plane, the independent gubernatorial candidate just shook her head and laughed.

                                Perry is about as corrupt a politian as I have ever seen. In my opinion he and some of his financial supporters need to be in jail not office for ripping Texans off in the tune of millions of dollars. A vote for him is like handing the keys to the barn to a rustler!
