Little Mineral Resort/Marina (Lake Texoma)

Anyone ever been there. Headed out there tomorrrow early with my Cousin to chill out for a couple days. Not gunna spend too much time at the cabin that is for sure!!! Just figured I would see if any of ya'll might have any opinions on the place.

Great place. Head over to the islands or butterfly cove in a boat if you can.

Oh yeah, my cuz has a nice big Cobalt... we will definitely be out on/in the water. We usually stay at the Lighthouse but they were booked up. Hoping to catch a few fish as well.

If you check this today. We tore up the striper yesterday north east of Preston Point on shiners at 50 feet. Don't go to the islands we went Sunday and the biting flies were insane.

Where exactly is preston point?

Toward the dam. It is the point that the lighthouse resort sits on. also we found that fishing was best for us between 6am and 9am. Large shiners.

Yeah I always like that area too. We were just west of that 45 ft flat where it drops to about 70 feet. Have fun drink a cold one or three. I will be back up there Friday. There wasn't hardly a sole on the lake yesterday.

I am trying to get a trip put together sometime the end of August or first of September. If your free would love to have on board. A lot depends on how Chris is sitting in the standings. Right now he is sitting 21st. The season ends the last weekend in September. If he is on the bubble it will be in October.

Yeah just let me know BrandonA. I wish I knew how to post picture from my phone. We only caught 2 between Saturday and Sunday just trolling and slabbing. finally switched to the shiners on Sunday morning and we had to quit because everything we were catching was over 22". ended up with 12 right at 20 and kept 4 at 24"+ Our biggest was 28" but didn't have a scale. I guess about 15lbs.

It was never had to quit because of size before. It was a good problem to have. I'll wake up the kid and have her load her pictures, since she was the only one smart enough to take a camera.

Let me know if their is any topwaters going. If your put in at Little Mineral, straight out is the table top. The topwaters usually start up by the dam to your right as you come out of the cove, and either work south down the bluffs, or down the table top(45' to 35'). I quit live baiting about 20years ago, and am straight artificial. I have heard the shad are making a comeback since the die off this past winter. You should do good on shiners. Good luck and load the boat.
