Have to wait for this weekend. Bruce will be after them. Not sure who else will be in camp. Bout time for mailman and trickyolgus to make their annual 1 weekend hunt. . I had to get back and get some protein out in lampasas. I could here my deer screaming all the way out at the Axis lease. Already on my way back home from Lampasas. I am all over the state today.

Here is a pic of the Axis from this morning. Just not in love with this deer. He is a nice deer though.

WOW Mitch, he has some serious mass on him.nHis forks ( or whatever you call them on axis) are a little short but his front tines (again dont know what to call them) are pretty nice. That is an awesome buck

He's heavy but I don't think he's over 30. Nice buck, but I'd have passed also (not that you need my permission )

Pics are a little deceiving. he is on a down hill and I am up highe than him. He is over 30 inches, but not much. I think one side will go 32, the other 30.5 or 31. Still, I have a couple that are 32 inch, and a 35inchers on the wall. Only thing that got my interest is the coloring and the mass. His beams really bow when looking at him from the side, so in those pictures, his top part of the beams are point towards me more than up.

Man, I remember the good ol days at the axis lease. The Drought and the die off really kicked out butts out there. Here is some Axis Candy...

Good pass, He has some heavy beams but his cottles are weak and brows look to be average. He looks like his beams are probably right around 30 or so. Good luck, will be following along on the next one
