Dude take yourself to the Dr. About a month ago I thought I had been bitten by something, but did not concern myself with it until a day later when it was about as round as a small grape fruit. I had Stolle from here look at it he said I would go get it checked out. I went to the emergency room and they took a tissue sample. As they were doing this they said the skin tissue was already dying underneath the skin. They had to cut a huge spot out of my back. I spent two weekends in a row in the hospital getting IV drips. I have to go several times a week to get the bandages changed out because they have to monitor the bite. I also have to wrap my self in saran wrap before I take a shower so water will not get into the bite. It sucks.

Would it be bad to wait until seven o'clock tonight? I need to go to work but don't want to jeopardize my health for work. The redness is going away but it is still hot to the touch I just don't know what to do and until five o'clock when the day and night clinic opens my only option is the ER and I don't want to spend 2k for them to tell me it's nothing

No just got home from work, the swelling has gone down and it's not red but there is a little pimple looking thing there now. I am going to watch it close tonight and kind of let it take its course depending on if it stays like this or gets worse. Thank yall so much for the help, if yall get down this way the beers are on me.

Brown recluse and some other spider bites are nothing to mess around with. Keep an eye on it in case it flares up again. Good luck

I have a pretty large piece of muscle tissue missing from my thigh because I neglected to go to the E.R. fast enough. I was bitten by a brown recluse and within 24 hours i had infection running down my thigh. I drained the abcess looking wound and it was twice as big the next day. EMERGENCY SURGERY followed a quick look-see by the doctor. It took forever to heal(the wound had to heal from the inside out) and the worst pain I had is when the nurses had to repack the open wound with about 3ft. of gauze. Better safe than sorry.

There were three of us bit at Lake Somerville sitting at a picnic table. We all all had to get them cut out a few days later. Mine looked like an ant bite with a small white head pimple. Two days later it was red and a hard knot under the skin about the size of a ping pong ball. Had to get it cut out. Then I started having knots popping up at different times in my lymph nodes. Would go to the doctor and get antibiotics and they would go away. I finally developed a large knot on my leg and went to the ER turned out to be MRSA Staff infection and was put in the hospital for a week pumping me full of heavy duty antibiotics. If a knot starts developing get to the ER.

If there is any doubt get it looked at.

Had a bite, got it looked at just before going to Mexico. Got the inside out treatment and it was the right thing to do. If it's a spider bite, you have to go inside out.

Ditto what brrdnk said. Was bitten by a brown recluse in 1980. Didnt know what had bitten me and tried to doctor it myself with stuff in the medicine cabinet. Ended up having to go to a plastic surgeon and getting the rotten skin cut out, then a skin graft. Not fun.
