I have used oil stones and diamond stones, all flat, and just like everyone says they get sharp, but could be a lot sharper.

The fastest way to get them sharp is to shoot a MUZZY )

My buddy uses Muzzy's and I watched 2 spikes walk away after solid hits! Nothing ever walked away after my montec's went through them!

I'd be willing to bet that the same has happened to other with Monetecs in this world....

                Leather Strope.

Try a good sturdy leather belt.

                  Smart,

I'm sure that deer have walked away from montec's, i like them, i don't like muzzy's, it's personal choice! Not trying to start a debate!

The best way to sharpen Montecs.....

Start off with your stones like you said you have done already, then transfer them over to a flat smooth peice of leather and push them over the leather "Strop" and they will get SCARY sharp......some of the best Broadheads made..

I agree with Dale. I make sure to push them evenly and the same number of times per side on the diamond stone. I next push them on 600 grit sandpaper on a hard surface. When I put them to the leather I pull them away from the point. Due to the thickness and angle of the edge they will not get like replaceable blade heads. They are extremely deadly.

Same here. I have found that the magnus snuffer ss will get sharp in less strokes, and will get sharper, in the same style head. The Hellrazor's are looking very interesting.

Lets see. Were the muzzys sharp? How "solid" were these hits? Were these spikes hit solidly through the pauch? etc...if the deer walked off after a solid hit, he would have walked off no matter what head was being used.
