    Elite Judge vs. Mathews Z7

I'm on the fence between the two and I'm looking for some non biased opinion on both. I have shot many bow brands over the years but never an Elite. I have heard good things so far but I'm not sure I'm sold yet. The Z7 looks like a solid product but my Reezen was a pain to tune and I never could get it perfect. Thanks for the help.

I owned a Reezen 6.5 and have owned several Elites. I have also shot the Judge and the Z7.

I really prefer the solid back wall on the Elites over the Mathews. I could not get used to that on my Reezen and sold it after only a month. I used to be a Mathews guy and left Mathews to start shooting Elites. Obviously, I could not go back.

Z7 is a great bow, especially if you are used to shooting Mathews and the soft back wall.

The 2010 Elites also have a great valley and 80%+ letoff that is getting rave reviews.

Don't know if you are interested in a 2010 Max1 GT500 to save you some cash, but I got one for sale in Classifieds. IBO is almost identical between GT500 and Z7.

      Aaron,

do any bowshops in the Crescent City carry Elite ???

you need to go shoot one brother and see for yourself

I have 5 Elites as I sold my SBXT and Dren LD and haven't looked back

I may have to make a special trip down to Belle Chase with my stable of bows and let you test drive them

I will have a 2010 Ninja Z28 (scary smooooooth) next week as I'm trading my Elite Aigil single cam

are ya'll able to bow fish for reds right now on the West side of the MS River since the recreational fishing ban was lifted this week ?

I'm "Jonesing" for a bowfishing charter for reds

send me a PM and I'll help you in any way

Mathews makes great bows, but they're not for everybody

ps - If you buy 2nd hand, a used Elite will have a lifetime warranty , no questions asked

      later brother

Mathews has become overrated imo recently. The Z7 is the best bow they have made in awhile though. I wouldn't hesitate to get one if you like it. I don't know anything about Elite bows other than a lot of folks swear by them. I shot Mathews for 11 years and went back to PSE. Like others have said the backwall of a Mathews is not for me. I shoot better with a shorter valley and stiffer backwall and my Vendetta Xl has both. Best bet is to go see if you can find a shop that has both bows you're looking at and go shoot both.

Blake the closest shop that carries elite is Bowie's in BR but they don't have a judge in stock. We do have some water open for bowfishing right now but all of the boats have the lights pulled off and are being used for cleanup. Hopefully we'll be back shooting fish soon. I'm setting up a meat hunt with the SOE guys in late Oct let me know if your interested in burning some does I have room for you.

            A

I'm in Bowie's once a month as the archery Mgr did not order any Elite 2010 bows

Mathews and Hoyt are his bread and butter as that is what they push big time .

Bowie has around 7 Elite bows (2009) on the shelf..... and probably 150 other bows hanging on the racks

I'll make a few phone calls Monday and see what I can do about finding a JUDGE that you can shoot

I'm definitely game for a meat hunt this Fall

I have shot both side by side and imo the elite was just as smooth as the z7 and ALOT faster and don't forget the warranty.

I'm going to sell my 2010 Z28. I love the bow, but can't get used to the grip!

What kind of grip are you used to? I love just the plates and riser on my ELites. Always have.

Funny how much personal preference archery is. One mans best is another mans worst.
