Once you go across the Redfish Bay bridge there is a bait shop called Fin and Feather. don't know if it is still there. Anyway, if you drive past the parking lot anywhere along that left side of the island is an area called Steadmans Reef. You can wade that shoreline and there are usually a lot of reds in there this time of year. you can also try the Brown and Root flats. After you get off the ferry on the laeft, the fence ends from the fab shop that is there. At the end of the fence line there is a dirt road that goes all the way back to the flats. Be careful they have had a lot of rain, and it can get pretty sloppy. good luck!

Thank you captsling!!! We will head for the root flats, if we can find it. Have two 4x4 trucks and shovels so we should be in good shape.

Cuz B@R flats are across from the lighthouse lakes trails. If you are coming off the ferry the trails will be on your right and the B@R flats on your right. On a falling tide hit the sailboat guts or close to them for trout and flatties. Reds will be on the flats.

Fish early/late(first light/hour before) behind the church between Port A and Corpus for reds and drum. Be extremely careful, there are some spots if you walk out far enough from shore where you will step off in to a hole and have to swim. You can safely fish shallow and sight cast to the above mentioned species.

I grew up down there and we always called B&R the huge flats on the left. The Lighthouse Lakes were on the right. On the other side of the Lydia Ann Channel. You have to have a boat to get across. Here is a map it is the big flat on the left of the map.
Very shallow. Requires shallow draft boat and a high tide to fish.

B@R you can access by wading. It will be on your right just after you come off a ferry and cross the bridge. Any and all of the flats to your left should hold fish. Cover lots of water and watch for nervous bait.

Cuz, be sure and go while the tide is moving in or out. Throw your lure or bait in the sandy spots on the edge of grass beds or in sand pockets. If the wind is down try topwaters in the morning. The wind should be out of the SE and you will be sheltered if you are fishing B&R.

Coming from Port A it is on the right side before you get to the packery channel bridge. Can't miss it. If you have gone over the packery bridge you have gone too far.
