That knife cuts both ways. If you prove to the county you are married for FMLA you will also be proving you are responsible for the medical expenses.

Even if you have worked for the county for a year, I think there is another criteria of working 1250 hours in the previous 12 month period. This is actual work hours not counting leave time.

If we were actually married she would lose her insurance and be covered under mine. BUT with her condition I would only be working to pay for medical expenses.

Talked with my supervisor today and he magically approved the day of the surgery and maybe the two followings days. So I am happy. For now
