wear a harness while bowhunting from trees? I am still one of the dumb ones that dont. But I believe in gravity. For the record, I vote they are probably cheap insurance but my old school ignorance prevents me from wearing one. That and comfort. I also act like I am in a tree when I am up there.

I wear fall protection at work and understand the whole thing (work is bunch more dangerous than a tree).....that said, no tying in trees and no helmet on the motorcycle.

Spur, it is only a matter of time before Timm gets on this thread. I wear a safety harness EVERY time i hunt in a treestand above the ground. I feel very strongly about this issue, but will not get on a soap box this time. I strongly reccommend everyone wear one. They have come a long way in the comfort department, so that excuse is out the window. Check out these:
No bigger than a low profile life jacket. The new ones with the CO2 canisters. If you can sit and fish with one on all day, then why cant you sit in a tree with one one?? Just sayin.

Hunter Safety System... Vest type, VERY comfortable, not like the cheap strap type harnesses that come with most tree stands. Seat belt type latches for the leg straps. Pockets come in handy too. Worth every bit of the $100-$150.
I'd hate to think that I put my family in a bind because I was too cheap, too macho, or too stubborn to wear one.
