    Varmint rifle question?

I am looking at buying either the Remington Model 7 predator or the Savage 10XP predator package. Does anyone have any experience/reviews with either of the rifles? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I use my .17 hmr as a varmint rifle. It maybe a smaller round, but everything I've ever shot with it dropped right there.

Savage 10. Don't know if I would get the scope package though. It's a pretty cheap scope that comes with the package.

That's a preference thing, those are both top notch rigs. Is the model 7 a newer one with the X mark trigger. I only ask because it's far better then the older Remington trigger.

I got the model 7 predator in .223 a few months back and I love it. After I had the trigger worked on and broke in the barrel it is an absolute tack driver.

I would say put them both in your hands and see if you like the feel. The savage 10 never felt good in my hands so I scratched it off of my list.

I have the Remington in 22-250. I can say the stocks on both are injection molded junk. Both will shoot. Have better than average triggers. Both are lighter than your typical varmint rifle. The Remington trigger is superior to the accu-trigger. Mine adjusted very easily down to 2.5lbs. I'd paid extra for a matching HS Precision stock on mine.

                        Jason,

Savage's new Accustock is pretty darn nice. Full length aluminum bedding. I can't comment on the trigger because I haven't shot them side x side. I think accuracy is a toss up.

I have the savage .17 HMR and its a dream. Look up video title below. The accutrigger is a really nice feature.

Yeah, the accustock is better than the previous one. I was thinking of the first one I handled. Ok, then the Remington has a POS stock.

Just did some more reading on them and saw that the Savage has a detatchable box(clip). Does anyone have input on how each of these guns feed the rounds?
