    Dung Beetles

Ok I've seen these beetles rolling around balls of dung all over the lease. I never realized that they were carnivarious (sp).

We killed a rat while working on a stand, the next day looked like this.

The dung is for their larva. I guess they need protein like everything else....

Wonder if they would work for cleaning a skull?

Very useful insect! We are very careful with which cattle vaccines we use, to protect them the best we can.

There primary goal in life is to role crap in a ball and put it in the ground

We those things in our pool

Kids and I invented the game of dung beetle baseball.

All that is needed is a dung beetle and a pool noodle. Great fun,.

We wondered the same thing. I was with Rob when we saw the beetles. They already had a leg and part of the spine completely cleaned!!!!

I see them at my lease all the time also rolling turds. We found a dead fawn a couple of weeks ago and these things were on it. They were also flying around and I didn't know they could fly.
